I can access "my music collection" when I hover mouse over icon in system tray. I can not get the player up though, it shows up in the task bar but will not maximize. So, I can only use player when I hover or pull up music collection. I liked player always on top.
Where's my amp?

When I right click it shows that the main amp is only on the task bar, but there is actually no main amp. When I right click the task bar button there is no maximize/restore option, those are greyed out. Also I can not access my mini-player. I uninstalled the amp, yesterday, removed all dbpoweramp registry keys and reinstalled, hoping a fresh install would help. Any other suggestions?Comment

Has it ever shown the main amp? when it was first run? Also try installing some Skins, each will be treated seperately.Comment

I have had the experience of the amp opening up in "stealth" mode (amp is playing music and shows up on the bottom menu bar but the amp itself is invisible). This usually happens on my Windows 95 machine which has version 1 of the audio player. Usually, when this happens, it happens with the Little Black Number skin. If this is like your problem the following observatioins may help.
First, I can use the mini-tray control (on the right hand side of the bottom menu bar) to do most of the things that require the amp window.
Second, I have always been able to close the audio player and start it back up and be able to get a visible skin (I do have multiple skins installed and I have set the program to restart with a new skin each time it restarts-these factors may make a difference).
I hope this helps.

BTW-This looks like it might be a better thread for the dAP (dB PowerAMP Audio Player) forum rather than the dMC (dB PowerAMP Music Converter forum), in case other members are running into the same problem.Comment

How To Restore main AMP
I have had a similar problem to "where is my amp?" After installing everything, I was learning the ropes...at first, the equalizer was dodging my cursor. Then the AMP retired to the system tray and the MOST I can get is the minature sized AMP (Not the full-sized amp).
I am running XP Home, with lots of RAM and Hard drive space. Zone ALarm, Norton AV, have several other 'players' installed on the sony laptop and usually use WinAmp.
Hoping for help as it appears you have an awesome profuct.

Dr. Carl-
You might try clicking on All Programs > dBpoer AMP > Configuration > Install Options. Make sure that the bottom two boxes (Hide When Minimized and Never in Taskbar) are both unchecked. You might also go to your desktop and check on your MMC (My Music Collection) icon. This would help assure that you actually have music loaded in MMC.
Other than that I would recommend that you check and change your Skin. You can access this either through the options menu by raising and right clicking on the tray control or through the program menu All Programs > dBpower AMP > Options Menu.
Let us know whether any of this helps.

AHHHhhhhh - YES
Spoon: YOU are THE MAN - wait - you already know that...Bill, you too. Thanx for trying. I got a couple of skins along the way. I sure hope I don;t have to flip between skins...there is something warm and fuzzy (and efficient) about familiarity. Now...WHAT WORKED???
The link to the "exe" prog that reset all to factory settings...did the trick...have not done the restart yet, but am about to....I just KNOW it'll work...
(I had tried ~every~ other combination of checking and de-checking boxes, and unstalled and re-installed to no avail) The "reset" prg did it.
Thanx...now, what was I listening to?

Thanks for the reset
Thank you for that little reset file. That did the trick for me. I hadn't a clue what I had clicked on to cause my player not to come up anymore, but it comes up now. I'm happy I don't have to uninstall-reinstall.
Great program!!
p.s. I was tinkering with the equalizer for the first time - if that's any clue. Also while I was doing that, all the player buttons went BLACK.. but would reappear if I ran the cursor over them. AMP was acting weird after all that.
