    CD Audio Input

    Spoon,
Upon trying out your CD Audio Input I can not get it to function with the freedb on the internet to retrieve my CD information. I get the following message: Can not connect with the freedb, please check your internet connection.

Since I am here, writing this thread in the support forum, internet connectivity is not my problem. I am behind a router/firewall AND I have cable connections, so my question is: Do you have any ideas? Should I have to enable a port to retrieve this information? If so, can I specify which port it will work on (so as not to open too many ports into my system? Any help would be appreciated.

I also want to say that I love your products and have been using the music converter for several years now, and am now only trying out your other great products. You are talanted, and deserve much respect in the digital audio community!

It connects to freedb through port 80 which is the web page browsing port, so it will not need to be opened. Although if you have a program such as Zone Alarm 'Audio CD Input' will have to be allowed to access the internet.

Proxies, one will have to be set up - select Audio CD Input >> Options (select freedb server if using release 10 beta and 'select')
for the proxy enter the information found on :

Internet Explorer >> tools >> internet options >> connections >> lan settings and copy the proxy info over from there.

Well to tell you the truth, I have two programs that have no problems getting CD information from the net. Realone connects to CDDB easily without doing anything special, and also my "tag&rename" program does also. I do not have port 80 specifically forwarded in my router. If one scans my 80 port it would be hidden, yet my other two programs have no problems getting the information. I do not use firewall software, but my router does have firewall capabilities, yet it does not stop my other programs :(
