    3 Suggestions

    Hello To Everybody !!,

and good year !! I Would like to ask you 3 suggestions for my Pc which runs with Windows 7:

    - which software TAG EDITOR would you suggest me to organize better all the details of my thousands of ripped songs, to avoid to go on each file, click with the right side of mouse and select Edit ID Tag ? If is possible a software that I don’t have to open the cover to view if is correct or wrong, but that is already open together with all the details of that song.
    - What is the best AUDIO PLAYER that you would suggest me ?
    - To convert files I use DBpoweramp, I have the latest version and I noted that Ape files are not more recognized, I mean on the Code Central doesn’t exist plugins that allow to convert a file APE to Flac (for example) with dbpower music converter. What do you suggest me to do ?

I thank you all so much !!
    Giorgio

I would say DAP is still one of the best players out there but its not compatable with a few things http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthread.php?t=12667

Otherwise keep pestering spoon into hurrying up the release of dBpoweramp Renaissance which can be found in beta here http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthread.php?t=17415

And hopefully the previous DAP skinners haven't died of old age by then :teufel8::D:yawn: lol.

dBpoweramp Renaissance is a revitalization of dAP (dBpoweramp Audio Player), re-built from the ground up with specific unique goals.

Designed to be the most efficient (in terms of memory footprint and resources used) audio player ever designed, featuring:

Built in UPnP Renderer: Renaissance enables your PC as a UPnP playback device, it can stream audio from a NAS / web for a distributed system where multiple playback devices can scattered around the home and playback from a single audio store, controlled by hand-held remotes, such as the iPod touch. (Renaissance appears as a UPnP Renderer, with Linn DS extensions)
Gapless playback: sample perfect decoding of mp3, Ogg and without saying any lossless format.
Bit perfect playback using WASAPI to bypass Windows mixer.
            ReplayGain (not currently through UPnP)

I wonder are there any plans of introducing the gui for renaissance player? It's great that it has strong command line features, but it would be just great to have such powerful player being available for a common users.

It is quite a low priority.

don't worry DAP GUI is still one of the best around coupled with MMC. just install to a different folder when using it. ufortunantly all the skins were mostly made for older resolutions so if your running 1920x1080 like me or higher the skins tend to look small oncreen

but the old skins are still a work of art to say the least. Studio Pro skin is one of a few skins that were made for higher res screens.

Just poped in after a while, and saw this disscusion
The "old" skin designers are still alive, they just don't have anything to skin
It just seems that all the audio players are going into the direction of just playing music, and being generally hidden away from view when not needed. And I understand that Spoon doesn't realy have the time to make new free audio players that will compete on an overcrowded market, which is again dominated by iTunes for some complicated reasons.

I know of several people who still regularly use dAP as they main music player (most of them were "initiated" by me ). I have driffted away from windows, and don't feel like using it under wine. I am now using QuodLibet, which is pretty cool, and a very rare example of something capabale to compare with the MMC in dAP. It also has a very powerful tagger part integrated called Ex Falso. It is available for windows too, I have tried it and it seemed to work pretty nice, so I would recomend it to people searching for something more modern, with UTF8 support, album art, etc.

And yeah the birthday skin was cool It never was released - it wasn't meant for the public Though you can release it if you feel like it, of course.

                            Greats to everyone
