vote for a skin

I thought this might be worth a try and see how it goes. I was trying to think of ways of choosing which skin goes into the "feature skin" of the week.

so i thought i would randomly show 10 skins for voting on which one becomes the skin of the week.

Good idea Razgo..

..only, i was thinking, it was better to make this poll as a simple
thread. For example, people can add their post naming thir best
skin (skins) an do their rates. Something like this: 3 rates by
descending order - BestRipCDRed 10, Matrix 9, Pinnacle 8. In this
way people can choose which rate they will give to which skin,
the could rate 3 skins the most, they could not vote twice (otherwise
it would be seen), and the most important thing would be - many
of us like to vote for their own skins, in this way it would be seen
if somebody voted their own skins. I'm not sayin' i forbid that, i
simply don't like it. Why do voting if people can favorize their skins?
I don't thing there's so many people available to vote, in this way
voting for your own skin makes resaults of voting unreal. So, what
i am sayin' is: in this way, people can vote for their own skins, but
as everithing else, this would be seen in their post. :blush:
What do you say? Like this idea?..

P.S. to test this voting system, i voted in favour my skin..

I'm not fully sure what your suggestion is.

It's ok to vote for your own skin. and you can only vote once on the poll anyway.

and yes you maybe right that not many people may vote. unfortunatley i can't do much about that.

the poll is set to close in seven days, so we can see if there is any response or not. if no response then maybe think of otherways.


i did want people to write a comment/review in the review section here: review section

and then maybe select only from what skins people commented on?

it would be just nice if comments/reviews/suggestions for skins were to reflect the massive amount of bandwidth that is being used downloading the skins.

but once again we can't force anyone to do it.:(

I know you people who have made these skins have put an enormous amount of time and energy into producing great skins for dbpoweramp. and it's a dam shame with your skins having been downloaded by thousands (not reflected in the current stats) and yet there is very little feedback if any. and that can be dishartning for many.

however it it may just have to take time before people start being talkitive about skin designs and suggestions/feedback from users.

oh and by the way there will be a great increase in growth with the dbpoweramp skinning in the near future too. i won't let the cat out of the bag yet, but will say Spoon and i have been planning in the background. It is a slow process but we should see an explosion in new skinners comming on board if it all works out in the near future.

oh well must think of a new way maybe. i might just simply random pick a skin for the weekly feature and write a review on each one as i cycle through all the skins.

the poll is now closed and there was no interest in it. so this time i am simply going to toss a coin. the first coin is tossed between the first 2 votes "Pinnacle" and "Stereo Ga Ga".

heads pinnacle tails Ga Ga.... and heads just came up.

so now it's pinnacle and dAPDOS-XT .... heads dapdos tails pinnacle..... and the winner is dapdos-xt.


until a better way of doing it is found i will simply randomly cycle through the skins for the weekly feature skin.
