Getting ID3 Tag

Is it possible to "get" the ID3 tag of the track playing so you can extract the data for use elsewhere.

I'm asking because I use a program called Girder to control DAP with a remote control, but it would be useful to show the mp3 tag details on the screen at a press of a button. There is a plugin, but only for winamp.

Is it possible to either copy the mp3 file playing to a set filename, so the details can be extracted or just extract the ID3 details to a text file.

Scrap that idea the best thing is to create your own OSD as a new part of the skin so when a button on the amp is pressed something like shown below pops up to show whats playing in a Large font - so you can see when at other end of room.
