    program not responding

I loaded the dp player and was working fine for all of 20 mins.. then the player disappeared from my screen, but I could still get music from the My Music Collection, then after about 10 mins.. my music stopped all together and I ended up getting an error message asking for an online fix or close the program... I am running VISTA 64 bit...
    what happened?

I tried that...3 times... I've also uninstalled and reinstalled twice... just dont understand how it was working, then it stopped... icons are on the desktop.. also noticed that it had uploaded all my MP3s, but now there are over 2000 missing ...
I am open to ideas...I've been using DB for over 5 years and do alot of music streams and it is the best player out there for that (and regular use at home), I hate to have to use something else. so I am really pursing and determined to get this fixed...
I noticed that when I uploaded the converter and ripper that it stated that it worked with 64bit systems... I take it that, that is also true with the audio player as well?

I have never tested the audio player on Win64, but it should be fine.

You might have to try clearing everything, then reinstall:

...also how to do a full reset of dBpoweramp? (if dBpoweramp crashes for some reason) Where does dBpoweramp save its files / settings? It is installed to c:\Program Files\Illustrate\dBpoweramp or c:\Program Files (x86)\Illustrate\dBpoweramp The 64 bit version of dBpoweramp is installed to: c:\Program Files\dBpoweramp It

          Re: program not responding

I have dAP running on Vista 64 bit system, so I don't think that's your problem.

One situation that might create this problem is one where dAP and dBpoweramp Music Converter (dMC) version 12.0 or later are installed in the in the same folder, OR where one of the codecs for dMC 12 or later got stored in the same folder with dAP. dAP runs on the same framework used for versions of dMC up to r11.5. The entire framework was rewritten for dMC r12 and beyond and the 2 versions are not compatible. In fact the 2 versions require different codecs because the codecs for dAP and dMC r11.5 (and earlier) will crash dMC r12.0 and later and vice versa.

When installing codecs you need to make sure that for dAP, for dMC r11.5 or earlier, for Sveta, or for CD Writer r1 or r2 you need to make sure that you install the LEGACY Codecs from LEGACY Codec Central (here https://www.dbpoweramp.com/legacy/co...ral-legacy.htm) and that these are installed in the correct folder.

dMC r12 and later, dB CD Writer r3, the Renaissance Player (in beta), and Asset UPnP use the newer codecs which are found in Codec Central.

If this is indeed the source of your problem, you will need to uninstall dAP (as Spoon suggests) and its codecs, and then reinstall (making sure that it is installed to a different folder than dMC r12 or later and/or CD Writer r3.

If these tips don't apply (if you are sure that you don't have dMC r12 or later installed and you are sure that you have not installed any of the new codecs from Codec Central into the same folder as dAP; or if you are sure that you have installed dMC r12 or later and any of the other later programs into a separate folder than dAP and you are sure that you have not installed any of the newer codecs into the same folder as dAP) please post to this effect and maybe we'll find another line of attack.

          Best wishes,
          Bill
