Associated files do start dAP but don't start playing

Since I started creating my own skin, mp3 files for example do start dAP, but don't play. If I click on play then, the last played file instead will continue (where I last stopped it).

I have to drag the file manually to the player to get it playing. This behaviour is in all skins now. But I'm quite sure, it wasn't that way when I started using dAP.

I tried to delete the registry key, but it didn't help.

    Any ideas?

Try this test - load dAP, unclick play so it is sat there doing nothing. Next double click a file in Explorer - what happens?

Start a file when player is idle...

I tried that. When I click such a file, the player get's topped, but doesn't start playing and in the display is still the old (before) played file visible.

When I click on play, the last played file starts (the one, that was visible in the display).

I have to drag a new file on the player in order to get this one playing.

Does it play from MMC with random play

It does play from MMC but just the next song in the MMC list. So it doesn't make a difference if random play is on or off. I checked that with the original skin too.

Try either switching the Crossfader off, or in Options Menu >> Amp and select the other 'Output To'

              Didn't help

I tried both (cross fading was already off), but it didn't help. Do you think I should completely remove dAP (incl. registry entries) and start from scratch?

btw: take a look at my skin - the first time I've done such a thing... of course it's not finished yet, it resembles still very much the original ;-)

You could try totally clearing it off - just delete that registry folder and the folder:

                  C:\Program Files\Illustrate\dBpowerAMP

after backing up your Music Collection if you have one.

Images cannot be uploaded to this forum, sorry.

                    Restart from zero

I wiped out everything completely and restarted it. But the behaviour remains the same. I think I can just live with that and use dAP as a music player and not as the standard audio player. It still is a very neat piece of software.

It couldbe the type of audio file you are playing, try double clicking Wave files to see if they start dAP?

                        Tried wav-files too...

but the reaction is the same. When dAP starts it plays the last played song from the point where you stopped it. I regard this as a feature now. So I can play my mp3 files without bothering where I left my music collection. Thanks for your help. And thanks for the cool software!
