Codecs before programs?

Just installed my OS again and I thought about trying something.

If I installed the codes for dAP and dMC (using separate folders) before installing either dAP or dMC, would they not install as windows codecs and then be recognized by the two programs after install?

the reason I ask this is I was thinking about installing legacy FLAC and newer codes seperately first, then install dAP and dMC.

Codecs installed after the main programs.

Install dAP and the legacy codecs, then install dMC and the new codecs in a different folder.
