    Recommended media player?

    Hey, Spoon. Or anyone else...

Can you recommend a good media player that best supports flac files? I'd like to become quite proficient with just one, but am unsure which ones to avoid or pursue.

    Windows Media Player
    J. River Media Center
    VLC media player
    Winamp
    MediaMonkey
    foobar2000
dBpoweramp Audio Player (is this outdated?)

    Etc.
    Etc.

I've posted this question before in Hydrogen Audio but haven't gotten a great response.

Right now I am noticing minor faults when I point MediaMonkey to my music folder in order to build the library. When MediaMonkey scans my computer and builds my library with all my flac files, they ALL do not show the track number under the track column. What gives?

    Thanks, everyone.

foobar2000 is a very nice player that will handle essentially everything. Used to be hard to setup, but with the v9.5 version, combined with the 'facets' component, it is relatively simple now.

Though it is not as good as dAP. For instance, it has no data column for the year (it does interest me the possibility to playback the 'latin' songs (genre) of 1962...
