    MusicMoz Bug

I'm really glad to see the option on MMC to look up the artist on MusicMoz, it really helps me when tagging files. However, when looking up certain files, it changes the capitalization. For example, when I look up the following 3 files I get error messages for each.

House of Pain - I'm A Swing It

System of a Down - Know

    Puddle of Mudd - Blurry

Interestingly enough, if I go to the following 3 sites, they are perfectly fine:

If the first letter of any word in the artist's name isn't capitalized, it is automatically changed when looking up the website (bands with the words 'a', 'in', and 'of' in the middle of them usually suffer from this).

Speaking of capitalization, I was wondering if it was possible when using Arrange Music to not have it skip over files that differ only in capitalization (i.e. when arranging to [artist] - [track], a file named 'sublime - don't push' would not be changed when the tag says artist is 'Sublime' and the trackname is 'Don't Push').

It is down to humans on two counts - first one is the name as it appears in the tag, secondly it is the name used on MusicMoz (these are just titles typed in by people), I had to go for no smartness at all because I don't think it will be right.

Speaking of capitalization, I was wondering if it was possible when using Arrange
Have you tried arranging it to a different folder, it should then be right (Windows will not allow two filenames with the same name, unix can if they have different capitals).

I totally agree about going for the no smartness idea. However, there is a small bug in looking up the webpage that actually smarts the first letter of each word in the artists' name, making them all capitalized. Since the MusicMoz URLs are case-sensitive, this leads to a problem.

If the artist name is System of a Down in the tag, when looking up the MusicMoz page, it automatically puts System Of A Down in the URL, which leads to an invalid page.

Hope this explains it a bit better.

Latest beta fixed a lot, but still, hyphens, apostrophes & punctuation marks in general kind of stop the artist from making it to the URL correctly.

          A few examples here:

          SR-71 to Sr-71
U2 to u2 (in this one the URL was http://musicmoz.org/Bands_and_Artists/u/u2/ )
          REM to Rem
Guns N' Roses to Guns n' Roses
          NoFX to Nofx

          Nice job on the beta.

I don't know of any rules that could help those out, the program would have to know REM was a name and not a word.
