Got the same problem ripping Ogg Vorbis & MP3, just because I had installed (never used) Windows Media Audio v9 without the support files. Installing db-wmfdist-wma9.exe fixed the problem.
I'm getting this same error message when I start conversion to Ogg or MP3, on clicking "", before either "dMC - Ripping to RAM" or "dBpowerAMP Music Converter" come up. I click okay and the conversion continues.
If I don't hit 'OK' in time, I get the following "Errors Whilst Converting" for each track:
CODEC decompression error for '\\CdRom\Track01.cda'
Error whilst running DSP effect, lack of disk space? Temp file 'C:\DOCUME~1\EDSTOK~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\DMC31A.tmp'
User Cancelled.
This occurs with Ogg codec v9.0 and v9beta2. I can't remember when this started, but perhaps around the time I upgraded to dMC-R9. Currently using WinXP (Home version, SP1).
Search on WMVcore.DLL lists the following:
Directory of C:\WINDOWS\system32
08/29/2002 03:41 AM 1,220,608 wmvcore.dll
1 File(s) 1,220,608 bytes
08/29/2002 03:41 AM 1,220,608 wmvcore.dll
1 File(s) 1,220,608 bytes
My other "Rip To" options are Wave & Windows Media Audio v9
Installed both files for WMA; interestingly got the same error message installing dBpowerAMP-codec-wmav9.exe. Would it be better to install db-wmfdist-wma9.exe first? The download instructions say install the codec file first.
Works after reboot.
Es.
