    Poweramp pauses

    Every few minutes player pauses. Especially when I start applications, open files/files/DVD-ROM, etc. Doesn't matter how large the file is. This has been going on since last summer. I don't remember the old version doing this. All my IDE controllers are on DMA. I don't want to uninstall anything because I don't have a Windows XP disc. Using current version of Poweramp Beta 6 and 768 MB RAM, 1.5 GB Virtual memory, Athlon XP 2700, FSB333.

    Re: Poweramp pauses

    A few suggestions:

    1. Open the Options menu, select Multiplayer, turn off Cross-fade (if that alone does not work, turn off gapless also);

    2. Open your Options menu (button or right-click on any inactive part of your skin to call up the Options menu), select AMP, if Amp is set on DirectX then change it to Wave Out (if it is set to Wave Out then change it to DirectX);

    3. Try the "factory reset" routine available from the FAQ section for dAP here:
    A. Some setting has changed that does not agree with your computer, run this to refresh dAP to the factory install setting: http://www.dbpoweramp.com/bin/dAPResetAll.exe

    I would try these in the order presented. If none of these options work, please let us know.

    Best wishes,
    Bill
