editing many track tags fails

I was trying to edit the genre on about thirty tracks in one go. then this error came up.

runtime error

dbpoweramp/editor.exe

abnormal program termination.

now the music library wont start till I restart the program.

What type of audio files were they?

Mainly mp3's.
At first I was using a mix of mp3's and wma. Though I have tried to use it with mp3's only and it still happens.

I have tried mixing idv3v2 and id3v2 this doesnt seem to trigger the event. neither does mixing wma and mp3.

Perhaps it is just one of the files that is bad? somehow, try it in batches of 5?
