MMC hangs when trying to play multiple files in limited user account

I installed dAP in an admin account and had no problem using the player and MMC, being able to play multiple selected files and also use the Play Album menu pick. However, I then tried to run dAP and MMC in a (different) limited account. There, (after saving the MMC to My Documents to ensure I had suitable permissions) I can play single files from the MMC OK but when I try to Play Album or multiple selected files, the files begin to play but no files appear in the bottom pane of the MMC and MMC hangs. This has to be force-closed and a Windows error message is generated.

If I convert the limited account to an admin account, MMC works correctly. While the account was admin, I installed the player again from that account (in case certain files owned by that user needed to be created) but when I converted it back to a limited account, the problem returned.

I'm using XP Home SP2 and the player is the latest version from the web site.

    Any suggestions please?

dAP is likely to need administrator rights (it was not written with limited accounts in mind).

      Fixed it!

I'd already opened up permissions on ...\dBpoweramp\<user>.AddToEditor, <user>.mcg, <user>.mcc, <user>.dpc and <user>.PreviouslyPlayed. However, when I checked more closely I found that a temporary file, <user>.PriorityEnqued, is also written to the dBpoweramp directory when more than one track is queued. I therefore opened up the permissions on the dBpoweramp folder itself so anyone can write to it and now I can run OK as a limited user.

A possible future enhancement would be for these user files to be written either to the user's Documents and Settings Application Data area or to their My Documents area

yeah that seems like a good idea, being that xp is now standard and that future versions will probably have similar organization...

and you really handled the situation great
I think this should be added to how-to's probably...
