Where can I find any visual outputs I can use with dBPowerAmp. Are there any places where I can download them or is there a plugin so I can use Winamp visuals?

Re: Visual Output for dBPowerAmp
You might want to check this thread here:
Are there any programs 'out there' that can monitor the output from dAP and put visualisations on the screen like Windows Media Player?
This thread discusses using G-Force and/or White Wave (both are from the same source) to provide visuals from the sound as it is played on the soundcard. There may be other programs out there which might do the same. dAP (dBpowerAMP Audio Player) does not support visualizations in the way that WinAmp, Music Match, or WMP do. There are a few dAP Skins that do provide some stunning visual effects as part of the skins but this is a bit different from what I believe you are asking for.
Best wishes,

Re: Visual Output for dBPowerAmp
Hmmm... After all these years, the best solution to the visualization issue is still to go out and buy G-Force?
I don't really want to purchase a new program for some visualizations. Personally I tend not to use visualizations very often. If i'm on my computer, I'm working, surfing, reading or whatever while listening. And otherwise I'm not staring at my computer.
But still, on those rare occasions I feel like having some kaleidoscopic display, I have to whip out the WMP (wimp). The DAP "plug-in" section has spaces for Visual Outputs & DSP's, but in almost 4 years of using DB, both of those windows remain empty on my options menu. Maybe someone can whip up some 3rd party support for this... like Donny did with the Quemaster.Comment

Re: Visual Output for dBPowerAmp
first thingy... g-force is free, or at least was last time I checked... so you don't have to purchase it. it works rather nice. though for visuals, I think the best combination, of what I've tried, of usefullens and vis is milkdrop built in winamp. of course there are many progs I didn't use, so ...
and yes there never were any visuals officialy from db...
on the other hand there are 4 dsp's available form the download site. mostly some conversions... 24 bits, 48khz, headphones and karaoke.
yes it would be interesting for someone to write a plug or at least a support into an existing system... but I'm pesimistic about this. there aren't many people who would write a whole new system, and for the second option, Spoon isn't much into shared developing...Comment

Re: Visual Output for dBPowerAmp
Hmmm... I downloaded Whitecap, and after playing with it for a while it became obvious that the free dl didn't include the standalone player... For that they direct you to "G-Force gold" which costs $20. (They have an even steeper one as well)
A number of months ago, I downloaded the trial version of G-force and found that it really wasn't working for me. It is possible that my installation was messed up, but there was no standalone, and the WinAmp and Media Player plug-in was hopelessly slow. (My computer has uber sufficient processing power) It also kept crashing, and wouldn't change resolutions without freezing up. Perhaps older versions of the software were better and free? I admit that I didn't spend more than a couple hours messing with it and I didn't go to their support or forum, but at some point my time is worth more than the product...
It seems like it wouldn't take much to take a WinAmp vis, and plug it in to DAP. Who knows? I certainly am not going to undertake such a project. As I said, I don't really use the visuals that much.Comment

Re: Visual Output for dBPowerAmp
I will probably look into this...
will also look for what version I have downloaded, and how big they are. maybe I can send them to you, or make a ftp download place...
anyway I know that in the version I have g-force worked well on a 850MHz duron with 256 mb of ram and a geforce 2 mx400 graphics card. whitecap also.Comment

Re: Visual Output for dBPowerAmp
indeed shareware, with no links on earlier versions... figures...
I think I have the old versions, but there is the legal problem of puting up files like that on my web server...
but we'll settle it somehow...Comment
