    Queued songs won't play

After queueing songs and hitting play, they are passed to the audio player. Only the audio player doesn't play them. It only asks for another song which the mmc supplies and the player discards. the result is whatever is queued is quickly "scrolled through" until the mmc in empty. 1 song or 30 the result is the same. the only way I can play a song is to double click it in windows.

The only recent changes I made, that I can think of, was changing 2 file associations. mp3 from iTunes to dBpowerAmp and m3u from I don't remember to Windows Media Player.

I think the later was when the problem started. I was trying to listen to streaming content off the net with multiple files and they wouldn't play, so I change the file association to wmp and it worked fine. However when I went back to play music from my hard drive with dBpowerAMP and the above problem had surfaced.

    Any thoughts??

What version of dAP are you using? The version number is on the menu that is shown when you right-click on a blank part of the skin when dAP is open. If you don't have it already, try the latest beta, dAP r3 beta 6. Link is below.

If you are already using the latest beta, try running this to reset all of dAP's settings: http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthread.php?t=403

The reset seems to have worked. Thanks.

The version thing though. I'll be danged, 'cause I can't figure that out. I've clicked several skins to death and I can't seem to find a version number. When I right click a skin I get the dBpowerAMP file menu (ie Amp - Multiplayer - Graphic Equalizer ... Power Off) I don't see any version number or do any of the choices there produce one. Mmmmmm ... puzzling.

On the side of the menu is where the version number should be. Its normally "release x" and if applicable "beta x"

I hate to waste time on a version number, but ... Still can't get it. Is this what your talking about?

BTW ... the original probelm is back. I noticed some complete uninstall instructions somewhere on the forum. Would that help.

Look at that window again (the one created by right-clicking on an inactive part of the player-which can also be called up by clicking on the icon for the Options menu. Look at the left side of this window where the dBpowerAMP is displyed vertivally on the side. Following this should be the version number. Edit: I see from your screenshot that the version number does not display there. Based on this I would say you would be well-advised to upgrade to the latest beta (version 3 beta 6), which has been out for some time now and seems to be very stable.

Complete uninstall will not work, that affects dMC and will not affect dAP. The reset application you used before is the right tool for dAP.

SInce you believe that there may have been a correlation between changing 2 files associations, why don't you reset one or both associations to see whether one or both of these might be contributing to your problem. Go Start>All Programs>dBpowerAMP>Configuration>File Associations.

            Best wishes,
            Bill

I was about to restate what xoas apparently said: Since there is no version number, you are NOT using the latest beta. Try updating your version and see if the problem still exists.

                Re: Queued songs won't play

Everything seems to be OK. I changed the file associations thru dap (Start>All Programs>dBpowerAMP>Configuration>File Associations) instead of thru windows and it seems to have fixed the queue problem.

I still haven't seen a version number and have been unable to locate where to download the latest beta version (Unless C|Net's Download.com has the latest version, in which case I'm sure I'm up to date.) Either way, I seem to have a perfectly working product.

The link is in my signature labeled "dAP Beta". And no, C|Net's Download.com has release 2, not the latest beta.
