    CODEC decompression error

    Howdy, Folks.

Trying to rip an older Richard Thompson audio CD with dBpowerAMP r9 under W2k, I get the following error message:

    CODEC decompression error for '\\CdRom\Track03.cda'
Unable to Rip track - make sure correct Ripping method is selected and CD Drive supports digital audio extraction.

I've got a Samsung CDRW/DVD SM-308B (comes with the Dell box), and have set the Advanced Ripping Configuration to 2000/NT Device IO with MMC Command Set.

Conversion fails from the start, i.e., it doesn't fail half-way through a burn or anything.

Is there anything I can do here? Am I missing a setting? Is the drive unsupported?

    Thanks.

You might want to try 'NT/2000 Built in (Limited)'

Thanks, Spoon -- that, indeed, was the solution.

BTW, I had meant to complement you on the fine work with dBpowerAMP in my last post, so please accept them now.

      Thanks again!
