Neil, unless I am mistaken, DMC has available a ENcoder for mp2, but no DEcoder. Perhaps the mp3 decoder is supposed to decode mp2 files, but I have tried it and cant convert mp2 to wave either. Nor can I get DAP to play mp2 filesthem. Winamp does play them, so perhaps one could use the decoder dll from Winamp.

Neil, I more puzzled than convinced that I am correct. A fact that makes me stop and think is that DAP has a box to check for mp2 in File Associations. However, even with it checked, I can't get it to play mp2 files that were produced from wave files using DMC. Very odd.
Just been fixing the mp2 codec today (and for the next week - to support freeform). The mp3 decoder is supposed to decode .mp2
Spoon, after searching Google, a lot of people seem to be reporting that the Lame mp3decoder will not decode mp2 files, but that some other mp3 decoders will. The one that comes with Media Player Classic does appear to work OK.

dbpoweramp used to, it was the last update r11 that broke it...
That's a bummer... But how did r11 break it? Was it because of the new MP3 License?
