Re: Cyrillic Tag - error after converting

As I said above, dMC (and therefore Sveta) cannot decode them (to transfer) them due to the non-ASCII characters in the filename. Sorry.

Re: Cyrillic Tag - error after converting

Okay, I tried some regular mp3 files...attempted to use Sveta to transfer them to the iPod -- I am still getting an error message:

The CODEC required to compress 'C:\DOCUME~1\Kevin\LOCALS~1\Temp\Svt3B5.tmp\AnnaNa lick-Breathe.m4a' could not be opened.
      Unable to run encoder ''

I usually use Anapod to load up the iPod, but I am having a registration conflict between my old iPod and the new video one that I purchased.

What may be the problem with the Sveta program use? I think I have loaded every codec in the library, and then rebooted the machine. Still no luck.

Your m4a file may be encrypted?

Re: Cyrillic Tag - error after converting

Your trying to compress your file to .m4a, or your trying to compress the .m4a file to something else?

Sorry, my mistake. .m4a is output file format. mp3 is input.

I am simply trying to move the file off my computer and on to the iPod without losing any more audio quality. I click the arrow button on Sveta to move it over to the iPod window frame and I get the error message.

Re: Cyrillic Tag - error after converting

I tried some different ways of using Sveta this morning. First, I noticed there was an m4a encoding for both (FAAC CLI) and for (iTunes). I switched to the iTunes profile and it still gave me an error message: "unable to encode".

I then just selected the "send as is" profile and the tunes went on to the iPod without any trouble. Then I tried the same with an mp3 (instead of an m4a), and again it wouldn't encode the file. So, I sent the mp3 "as is". I have not attempted to play the mp3 on my iPod, so don't know if it is going to work without some kind of encoding.

There is still some kind of problem that I cannot understand with the encoding.

What's the filename of your original AnnNa file?
Can you encode files, like WAV, to m4a? to mp3? Or does it break on all of them?

Sounds like the program does not have access to create that file.

Re: Cyrillic Tag - error after converting

I have decided to simply transliterate the cyrillic, so that solves the one problem. But, I still am struggling with Sveta as an interface with my iPod.

I have discovered that some tranfered mp3 files end up under the data files tab and some under the audio tracks tab of Sveta. For album art, I tried to drag a 300 x 300 jpeg to the iTunes interface, and it assigned the art to all my songs. When I then tranfered the audio file to my iPod using Sveta, the art did not follow. I was using the ID3v1 APE tag format.

Any suggestions? Should I be making an effort to convert the files in to something other than mp3? Is that what causes the confusion between audio tracks and data files? How to embed the artwork?

Artwork is not supported yet in any dBpowerAMP programs.
