    Real Codec Problem

My dB converter is installed in a non-default location--can I still install codecs that require it somehow? Because I read the thread about the problematic realplayer codec and someone said to reinstall the converter in the default directory--but I don't want to do that

    Re: Real Codec Problem

I have the converter installed to a non-default directory, but I'm not using the Real codec. I know most other codecs will work fine, but again, I don't know about the Real Codec.

Just as long as you remember where you've installed it and install all other dB compenents and codecs to the same directory, it should be ok.

Anyway, what problematic Real codec???? I must have slept through that one :D

Thanks! Problem Solved (I feel stupid)

Unfortunately, I still can't stream .ram files on dbPowerAmp, even with RealPlayer8 installed. I tried RealAlternative as well, without Real8 installed, and that didn't work either. It's a REALLY tiny file so I'm pretty sure it's a .ram; what do I do?

dbPowerAmp doesn't support streaming files, at least not that I'm aware of.

The .ram file is the meta file, it only gives the address of the actual real audio file. Edit the .ram file in Notebook and see what it says.

If you see http://www.somesite.com/..../somefile.ra then you can dowload that one alone and you'll be working with it.

If you see rttp:// ..... then you cannot download it. The only option is to play the file in Real Player (or Real One or Real ALternative) and record the audio using dMC Auxiliary Input.
