Looks like Christina has already given you great information.
Thought I'd throw this out there. If you're just wanting to create an audiofile of your work, your best bet is to just plug the keyboard directly into your computers "Line-In" connection from the keyboards stereo headphone jack and then use the Auxiliary Input to record the file. It works great with piano keyboards. Good luck with the songs you're making. Its a lot of fun.

Re: Need Help Asap
it depends on your keyboard. mine has 2 stereo line outs and 2 mono line outs and midi thru and midi out. so for midi out i just use midi out cable to midi in the back of the sound card, which is usually the game controler port.
you must have used some software for the recording? if your going to use multitracking you will need multitracking software. or for simple recording tunes then yeh auxiliary input will do. it can be found here: http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthread.php?t=2424Comment

I'd just add a bonus of getting the midi file into the computer from the keyboard using the midi/joyustick port: you can run that file through various midi composition programs (e.g. Anvil Studio or any from Voyetra )and modify it or print score sheets from it, a great tool for musicians.
Of course, storing the original midi file on the computer has also the advantage of a very small size.
Recording from the midi keyboard through the midi input may not give great results later on playback from the pc if you don't have as good and varied a midi soundbank as the keyboard. In that case recording through line-in captures it all as intended.Comment
