    'Cannot open file'

    Hi

I downloaded a ASF file from this link

When i tried to convert it to mp3, this error popped up

'The file 'C:\WINDOWS\Desktop\22245_1_1_05.asf' could not be opened.
    Unable to open file.'

Any ideas why or what i can do?

    Thanks

Try playing it in Windows Media Player, does it work?

Not if you click on the file but if you copy and paste the url into media player, then it does.

Then that's because the ASF file you have doesn't contain the audio data, it's merely a link to the streamer online.

Look inside the file, you should see a link, try to download that file using a file downloader (like GetRight or GoZilla). You could also try paste the link in Internet Explorer, but I am not sure if it'll work.

That's the file that was inside the link and the one I downloaded.

Could be something about the server having to authenticate the file before playback

Well there's always the AUxiliary Input recording way to do it.

Take a wire from your speaker out to the line-in of your soundcard and use Auxiliary Input to record it as you play it back WMP.
