    FreeDB problem

I can get CD info from FreeDB.

However the problem occurs when I try to submit information. Then I get a could not connect message.

When I try to configure the server, the program hangs for minutes then eventually brings up a dialog box.

I'm behind a Linksys home firewall. Is there anything different between retrieving and submitting FreeDB info?

Yes, firewalls can block ingoing and out going seperately.

When you config the server, what is the message is shown?

When I config the server, it acts like it should bringing up the dialog box. The only problem there is that it is extremely slow to open the dialog box.

When I try to submit to freeDb I get:

Unable to connect to freedb server, please cehck your internet connection.

On another machine on the netwwork this doesn't happen. It goes right through.

So if it is a firewall issue then it is the built-in XP firewall. They are both running XP Home.

I think you'll find that the XP firewall only stops incoming traffic not outgoing.
