What are the XML files for after ripping CD to MP*

I ripped a bunch of my Cds to mp3 years ago with dbpoweramp. I was cleaning up my harddrive and saw that for every mp3 song there was a corresponding xml file. But they are zero size and don't appear to have anything in them when I open with note pad. Is it safe to just delete these files?

not sure why they were created, but they can be deleted. Not useful for anything.
