Write Metadata File is generating malformed xml

I'm getting similar issues to this one with malformed xml being generated via the Write Metadata File 'DSP effect' on R16.6.
In my case, it's outputting an element under <IDTags> with start tag

I ripped a bunch of my Cds to mp3 years ago with dbpoweramp. I was cleaning up my harddrive and saw that for every mp3 song there was a corresponding xml file. But they are zero size and don't appear to have anything in them when I open with note pad. Is it safe to just delete these files?

I would like to see a utility codec added to DMC and the batch converter to allow copying of tags from an xml file or identically named file in a source directory.

There seems to be a bug in the latest release affecting the reading of custom tags. For some reason now, the Initialkey custom tag generated by MixedInKey isn't read by dbPA, but the EnergyLevel and Style tags are.
