    Optional codecs not installing

I just upgraded to R16 from R15 in Windows 10, but when I try to do a conversion (either by right-clicking from Windows Explorer or from the dBpoweramp Music Converter preogram), I get the following error:
Error converting to m4a FDK (AAC), <old filename> to <new filename> Error: Unable to load encoder 'm4a FDK (AAC)'. [dBCoreConverter::dBCoreConverter]
    and:
Error converting to Windows Media Audio 10, <old filename> to <new filename> Error: Unable to load encoder 'Windows Media Audio 10'. [dBCoreConverter::dBCoreConverter]
I tried downloading and installing the codecs from the website here, and no change.
The codecs do not show as installed in the dBpoweramp Configuration program, but looking in the C:\Program Files\dBpoweramp directory, shows the "Windows Media Audio 10.dll" in the encoder subdirectory, and the "fdkaac.exe" in the encoder\m4a FDK (AAC) subdirectory.
I tried uninstalling the program and codecs and reinstalling, no change. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling R15 with the old codecs, and that didn't work. Tried uninstalling and wiping out the registry entries for dBpoweramp, along with the dBpoweramp directory in Appdata and reinstalling. No luck. Please help!

    Re: Optional codecs not installing

It is likely you have 32 and 64 bit components installed. Run this then reinstall:

...also how to do a full reset of dBpoweramp? (if dBpoweramp crashes for some reason) Where does dBpoweramp save its files / settings? It is installed to c:\Program Files\Illustrate\dBpoweramp or c:\Program Files (x86)\Illustrate\dBpoweramp The 64 bit version of dBpoweramp is installed to: c:\Program Files\dBpoweramp It

      Re: Optional codecs not installing

OK, tried that. No luck. But I think we're onto something. I'm running 64-bit Windows 10, and installed the 64-bit R16. It appears that the m4a and wma installers are installing the 32-bit versions of the codecs. When I run the m4a installer, and the security popup comes up, I clicked on the "More Details" button, and this message was in there (please ignore any small errors, I had to handwrite the message):
      Program location: "C:\Users\markd\AppData\Local\Temp\A478.tmp-dBpoweramp-Codec-m4a FDK (AAC) Encoder-31.exe" -- IsElevated - "C:\Users\markd\AppData\Local\Temp\SPIB095.tmp " -- force32bit
Is there a way to stop it forcing the installer to install the 32-bit version?
      Thanks.

The installer will default 32 bit if there is a 32 bit install found, if you have the folder:

        c:\program files (x86)\Illustrate

        remove this folder.

I do not have that folder. I deleted it a couple of installations ago.

In this instance you would be best to uninstall, then force the 32 bit version of dBpoweramp by holding the right shift key whilst installing.

That forces the 32-bit version to install, I need to force the 64-bit version to install. How do I do that?

The installer will install the 64bit version by default.

It is not possible to force 64 bit.

                    Re: Optional codecs not installing

Having the same issue, I have an old version of dbPowerAmp (13.5) and it doesn't offer the option of a 64bit, is 64bit more recent? I get no option to install a 32bit WMA codec and it gets installed in Program Files rather than x86.

                    Any way round this?

EDIT: Fixed it, holding shift key while installing the codec put it in the 32 bit program files. Ignore!
