dbpoweramp onWindows 11: turn to 64 bit

How can I turn dbpoweramp to 64 bit, retaining my 32 bit settings on Windows 11 ?

Is a step by step guide available?

Uninstall dBpoweramp fully, install the 64 bit version and most settings should be preserved.

How can I Uninstall dBpoweramp fully?

I found these possibilities to uninstall:

Uninstall from Apps - Installed Apps
      or
Uninstall from Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features,
one by one each dBpoweramp component (I have 16 listed)

      or
      run C:\Program Files (x86)\SpoonUninstall\SpoonUninstall.exe
The SpoonUninstall folder contains 12 codec .dat files and 6 .exe files in addition to SpoonUninstall.exe

      Previously I installed dBRefMusic-2025-07-21==C1D0861C=ADA14604.exe

Do you actually run dbpa in 32bit at all? Did you force the installation process to setup the 32bit version previously?

Yes, I use it for music files, normalize, convert mostly.

What is the purpose of your question?

I wouldn't pay for it if I didn't use it.

The standard installation has setup a 64 bit version for years already. There have been only a few scenarios where a 32 bit setup were recommended or necessary.

My first dBpoweramp version was Power Pack & Mp3 Encoder, which I bought in 2005, and it was 32-bit.
Then, after a while, a 64-bit version became available, and I found a note in my records from 2014 about the dual installer, right shift for installing the 32-bit version.
This has now been discontinued with the 2025-11-12 version.

I didn't switch to the 64-bit version because the 32-bit version suited me perfectly, and I wanted to avoid the transition tasks, which I still don't have enough/accurate knowledge about.

In any case, I'm still waiting to see if anyone can provide more specific information on "How can I uninstall dBpoweramp fully?"

                See:

...also how to do a full reset of dBpoweramp? (if dBpoweramp crashes for some reason) Where does dBpoweramp save its files / settings? It is installed to c:\Program Files\Illustrate\dBpoweramp or c:\Program Files (x86)\Illustrate\dBpoweramp The 64 bit version of dBpoweramp is installed to: c:\Program Files\dBpoweramp It

Invert the 3 check boxes to just remove from program files

To switch dbpoweramp to 64-bit on Windows 11 while keeping your 32-bit settings, you generally need to install the 64-bit version alongside your existing 32-bit version. During installation, make sure to point it to the same settings folder or backup your settings first and restore them after installation. Always follow the official dbpoweramp guide for step-by-step instructions to avoid losing any configuration.

As I already posted, the switch to 64 bit was successful.
