This question has probably been posted and responded to in many guises, because my searches fail to turn up a clear-cut answer:
What is the lossless level setting I should use when I encode one lossless format into another? Take for example converting APE to FLAC. Since both APE and FLAC formats are lossless, I assume that just any of the proffered lossless level options will do. Is this assumption correct, or is there perhaps a hidden spike somewhere I should look out for?
