You should do a better job with the install on demand listed on the codecs screen.
They list 32 bit codecs to install. Like MIDI, Shorten, Musepack & Real Audio

We have yet to do these codecs, it could be they can move to 64 bit.

Re: Unable to install WMA with R15

I have exactly the same problem. I am running a german version of Windows 7 SP1 x64.
I have removed all old dbpoweramp stuff (using normal uninstall), cleaned the registry from all "Illustrate" Keys, and removed all dbpoweramp related files and dirs on my pc.
When I run the R15 installer, it wants to install to "C:\Program Files\dBpoweramp".
Further above in the thread it was mentioned that the dbpoweramp directory should be named dbpoweramp64 on a 64bit system.
But somehow the installer thinks it is running on 32bit? Please help.

The installer will default to 32 bit if either:

the 64 bit version is installed to the exactly same location as 32 bit dbpoweramp was installed (even if the 32 bit version is removed)

          or

the 32 bit dbpoweramp is still present on the system, deleting the older dbconfig.exe as detailed here, fixes:

The 64 bit release of dBpoweramp will only work correctly with 64 bit codecs. In Codec Central the codecs which are indicated as 32 bit only will not work with the 64 bit version of dBpoweramp. CD Writer CD Writer cannot be compiled to 64 bit, it is 32 bit only.

Re: Unable to install WMA with R15

I got it installed correctly now, but the procedure was really weird, as I really had NO leftovers of the 32bit files on my filesystem.
            Here is what I did:
I installed the program not to the default location again, but this time to C:\audio\dbpoweramp.
The program and the WMA Codec then installed as 64bit!
Then I uninstalled everything again, cleaned the whole filesystem, cleaned the registery from Illustrate AND SpoonInstall regkeys and reinstalled to the default path C:\program file\dbpoweramp again.
Also this time 64bit version installed correctly. So this is ok for me. Still strange why it installed 32bit versions, even though really no single 32bit related dbpoweramp file was on my system anymore.
Maybe the entries in the spooninstall regkey had something to do with it?....

I noticed also some strange behaviour in the WMA settings drop down boxes: Sometimes you open then and you get the lines in different colors shown.
For example 48kpbs and 64kpbs are shown in red, the rest of the kpbs values (the higher ones) are shown in black. Then I select one of the settings (e.g. 256kbps) and open the list box again. This time all values are shown in black.... Same behaviour also in the channel settings.
