Unable to install WMA with R15

    Hi

I've just installed R15 and attempted to install the WMA codec.

If I let it proceed with defaults, it ends with "Error while running C:\...\dbConfig.exe"

If I change the installation directory to the same as dbPoweramp (i.e. Program Files\dbPoweramp, not Program Files (x86)\Illustrate\dbPoweramp), then it seems to work OK, but all the encoder settings are blank.

Any ideas? In the meantime, can someone tell me how I download R14, as this worked!

    Thanks

    Charlie

Re: Unable to install WMA with R15

You need the 64 bit version which is here:

These installs contain both 64 bit install (for dBpoweramp R15 beta 64 bit) and 32 bit installs. By default the install will match your dBpoweramp (32 bit or 64 bit). I installed R15 and then installed WMA 10 for 64 bit version. Installs fine but dBpoweramp fails when trying to use it.
Also I need WMA 9.2 for compatibility with my car audio system.

The WMA 10 codec has 9.2 as the lossy codec within WMA 10.

How does WMA 10 fail when using it?

dBpoweramp 15 does not let you customize any settings for WMA. I attached an image see original post "Capture.png"

You have probbably got the 32 bit WMA installed, make sure you do not have R14.4 left in:

              c:\program files (x86)\Illustrate\dBpoweramp\

              Then reinstall.

I removed 14.4 and then the WMA codec. Installed 15 and then the WMA codec 10 version 8. No difference, dBpoweramp does not really see the code.

                  If you look inside:

                  C:\Program Files\dBpoweramp\encoder\

What size is the 'Windows Media Audio 10' application extension file?

Also which Windows do you have?

I removed 15 and installed 14.4, the installer for 15 & WMA says it includes both 32 & 64 bit versions.
How do I force the installer to 64 bit for dBpoweramp and the codes? This also occurring with 6 other codecs

Make sure that R14 is not being installed to the 64 bit path, so install to:

                      C:\Program Files (x86)\Illustrate\dBpoweramp\

Then uninstall the R14 and install R15 64 bit.

I'm not using and never used the default path for either 14.4 or 15. They are installed in the following path C:\Audio\dBpoweramp\

That is the issue, you need to install the new 64 bit stuff to:

                          C:\Audio\dbpoweramp64\

otherwise it thinks it is the 32 bit version (if it was there previously).

Will any of the 32 bit versions of the codecs work in 64 bit version? Not all codecs have 64 bit version yet.
I removed 14.4 and all the codecs and installed 64 bit version to a new folder and it worked. Not sure why the installer does not perform a cleanup when you install 15 on a system that had an older version.

No 32 bit components will work, you can force R15 to install as 32 bit by holding the right shift key.
