I Have Been Having Problems Converting Ra Files To All Other Formats. On Reading The Forum This Seems To Be A Problem Alot Of People Are Having. After Downloading The Program Everthing Worked Fine But After A Few Weeks It Just Stopped Working. The Program Runs As Normal But Just Converts In A Second But Leaves A File With A Second Of Dead Air On It. Has Anyone Got The Solution All The Threads I Have Read Don't Seem To End Up Fixing The Problem

Re: Converting Ra Files
Which codec are you using to convert the RA files?
If you are using the DirectShow Filter codec can you play the files causing an issue in Windows Media Player? Do they play using the Media Player Classic (comes with Real Alternative)?
It could be that they are protected. How large are they in size?

Re: Converting Ra Files
At 2KB it can't be a true audio file instead it is most likely a meta link to the real content.
Have you tried opening the ra file in notepad? If it is a link you will need to download it before you can convert it. dMC can not convert streamed audio.Comment

Re: Converting Ra Files
What he means is that he can play the original file of 58MB but when he converts it he gets a 2KB file.
I'm having the same problem. I have both real player and real alternative installed, can play .ra files on wmp classic but not on regular wmp. When i convert .ra files (of around 1MB) i get 1KB wav or mp3 files.Comment

Re: Converting Ra Files
If you can't play the files in WMP, then that is why dMC cannot convert them. Try reinstalling RealAlternative, making sure you tell it to install the RealMedia DirectShow Splitter. Also, you may have to uninstall RealPlayer, but I am unsure.Comment
