Quality problem when converting .ra to .mp3

I can get PowerAmp to convert a .ra file to .mp3 format, but the result is a file that is just a bunch of garbled/choppy/unintelligible noise. Cannot figure out what I may be doing wrong. Any suggestions?

Try playing it in Windows Media Player (to test the filter).

      Hi,

maybe my proposal it not so comfortable, but it will satisfy you with your problem.
To convert from *.ra to *.mp3 in best quality you should try to do it in two steps:
1st translate *.ra to *.wav, 2nd *.wav to *.mp3.

It does not take much time!
