    dbPoweramp crashing Vista

I have dbPoweramp v12.3 Reference running on Vista Enterprise. When I run the CD Ripper and click on the "Options" button the program freezes, and the system has to be Hard Reset because task manager will no longer open. I only seem to have this problem if I click "options" before inserting a CD into the drive ie the "Insert CD" request box is open.

By issuing those drive query commands should not crash Windows, what is the CD drive and how does it connect to the computer?

It's a liteon DVD Writer connected via IDE.

Are you 100% sure it is set to master (if only 1 drive present on that IDE), or slave if there are 2 drives?

Just checked, it is only drive on the cable & it is set to master. Is it because I am pressing "options" whilst the "select audio drive" dialogue is present?

Really Windows should not crash, whatever a program requests from a drive, even if the calls were garbage.

You could try one of the different communication methods on the options page.

Very strange - once I have inserted an AudioCD & it has read the details of the CD, I can press Options and get into the Options dialogue no problem at all.

Do you happen to have any upper or lower filter drivers installed on that IDE device/channel?

By the looks of it you have many filters installed, there is a possibility that one of those is causing the crash.
