This happens with the .divx extension.

I did this
"You can disable dBpoweramp popup info (which is getpopupinfo) in dBpoweramp Configuration."
and it worked.

Just wanted to make that clear for any divx users you get out there.

Using the latest stable version of DMC Ref,Windows XP PRO SP2.

dBpoweramp should not be looking at .divx files, run dbpoweramp configuration to find out why it is (installed codecs).

Hmm.yeah the .divx extention is in my direct show decoder list.
Now to find a way to uninstall the divx direct show without uninstalling the divx encoder.


Update.
Still no dice i've disabled divx directshow filters and edited the text file in the program folder ...getpopupinfo.exe still pops up and my divx files display the context menus my audio files display,i.e. convert to/edit tag,etc. And there is no mention of the .divx extention in the config panel.

You would have to add .divx to directshow, remove the option to show popup info (in dbpoweramp config) that would remove the popup for divx.

Ahh, just uninstalled Divx then reinstalled (cleaned registry) fixed everything.
I don't know i think it was a divx thing.It's fixed now,which is the important thing.Pop up option enabled and everything,happy yet confused...not the first time :smile2: None the less everything is cool and thanks for the input.
Been using your software for the better part of 2 years or so and i like it very much.Keep up the good work.I wish i could find video conversion software as easy as this but that's a seperate thread.

I installed version dbPoweramp version 13 - XP-x64, Pentium D system.

I've several times found my system hung with several instances of getpopupinfo.exe taking all CPU cycles. I kill each process, until the last two are each taking nearly 50% each (dual core system). Was looking at .m4a file type (aac), and have popup configured to display all extended info. Task manager shows lots of I/o's for the errant process.

Seems to be a long standing issue. Think this will ever get fixed?

It is an infinite issue, in that we use 3rd party libs to access various audio formats and there are infinite combinations of files (and corruptions of audio and id tags), if you spot a problem file first:

Make sure you are using the latest dBpoweramp and latest codec (we correct many issues like this each update), if still persists email an example file:

I got similar observation whenever I use to use M$ Project, wither 2k3 or 2k7.
It got resolved only after I disabled 'Enable Pop-up information tips'

What happens if you just delete "getpopupinfo.exe" ?

Popups stop working, editing tags stop working.
