    AAC --> mp3 problem

    Hello.

I want to convert a audio file aac-format to mp3.
The aac file is created from a radio stream with streamripper.
Winamp plays this file correctly with right id tag.

    dbpoweramp R12.2
Apple lossless Release 6 beta (tried release 5 too)
    m4a Nero (AAC) Release 6
    Windows XP

Error converting to mp3 (Lame), 'C:\*.aac' to 'C:\*.mp3'
Error decoding AAC, file is AAC? [clfaad::Create]

    Can someone help me?

    thx Ridek

The filename is *.aac, with dbpoweramp you have to pass the individual files.

Yes, it is a individual file. I only type in this forum "*" for the folder and the file name.

        (sorry for double post)

The AAC-files can be played with Windows Media Player 11 with this codec:
        Orban AAC/AAC+ Plugin

        thx Ridek

What is the bitrate of the file? Is it a HE-AAC or HE-AACv2 file or just a normal LC AAC file?

Also, could you go into dBpoweramp Configuration, click the Codecs tab, then click "Copy Versions to Clipboard" and paste that here, please?

Our aac decoder is not reading the files, it is based on faad2, we are using the latest version 2.5, so there seems no fix.

Have you considered using the nero AAC decoder, Spoon?

It is not embeddable, only an .exe
