By remove do you mean uninstall, or do you mean you deleted the install directory and the registry data, as specified here: http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthread.php?t=6828

Also, does it matter if there is a CD in the drive when the CD Ripper crashes?

I uninstalled from control panel. then I removed the illustrate folder from the programs file.. And yes it R12 will open ok untill I load a CD then the error message comes up and the R12 shuts down. Should I completly remove it using the outlined proceedure?

I just uninstalled using the listed procedure and R12 is working again, except that the options for secure ripping are greyed out and I can only rip in burst mode?????

I got it working.. reinstalled a registered copy. Only thing now is that R12 sez my drive doesn't support fua.. it did before.. strange.

Does r12 work fine now? Are you sure you drive doesn't support FUA and it wasn't a fluke before?

Yup, I ripped a couple of cd's and it's working as before. Not sure if my drive supports fua or not. I seem to remember that it did before but maybe I'm wrong. Strange...
