When I convert FLAC files using dBpowerAMP and try to play them on my iPod Photo, the iPod skips every other file. If I click play on a whole album, this first song plays, but then every second song is skipped.
If I convert the Apple Lossless files to Apple Lossless again in ITunes, the problem goes away. I have also tried to change the tags slightly (as described in another thread) and update the iPod again, but this had no effect. I have also tried to run m4a optimize without any effect as well. It seems others are having this problem, but I cannot find a solution in the forum for it. Here are 3 other threads with the same problem:
I also have an old (monochrome) iPod, which works fine with the exact same files. This leads me to guess that it has something to do with embedding album art in the m4a files (although the album art displays fine on the iPod)? This theory is strengthened by the fact that if I use the Tag&Rename program to embed album art into the files, the skipping gets even worse. Now the iPod skips every file in the album.
Is there any solution to this problem? It seems sort of silly to convert to Apple Lossless and then do the conversion again and it is also pain since it takes twice the time to add new songsā¦
Thanks in advance for any hints.
Regards,
Lars
