Which Amp version do you have? old versions used XAudio to decode mp3.

Do you mean the audio player? It's brand new - I only downloaded it to check if it would play the mp2 files (note MP2, not MP3).

I have found a partial answer - mp3DirectCut will convert the mp2 file into a format which dbPowerAmp can convert. It's not perfect but it's much quicker than Audacity.
