I too had a the same error, and from using station ripper. What worked for me is to use winamp to convert it first. I'm using WinAmp 5.54 . I selected the track right clicked and chose "Send To:">Format Converter. I chose FLAC and then I used dbpoweramp to convert the resulting FLAC to ALAC. I assume any other format will work too.
