Problems with install of powerpack and mp3 license

    Hi,
I just installed the powerpack and mp3 license and the product is not working. I tried re-installing and replacing the existing .exe file and it still is not working. When I try to convert a wma to an mp3, the error message reads:
Error: unable to load decoder for file type: wma... codec not installed?
Would you know what is wrong?
    Thanks,
    Tina

Did you install the WMA codec from Codec Central?

Re: Problems with install of powerpack and mp3 license

There weren't any installation instructions so I just downloaded the .exe file from the email link. Then I went into the folder and clicked on the .exe file. It asked if I wanted to replace the old file (I had a trial version) and initially I uninstalled the old one and ran the routine again and then overlapped the second time. I didn't do anything after that! Did I miss something in the instructions that said to go to the codec website to download something separate? If I missed it, I apologize for taking your time!

Sorry, I should have said "online install instructions"!

dMC only comes with mp3, WAV, and CDA codecs. Everything else must be downloaded from the website.

The file I was trying to change was .wav to .mp3. Is it possible I need to reinstall?
Thank you for your quick responses.

Oops sorry I'm new at this! It was a .wma file that I wanted to convert to mp3.
              Thank you,
              Tina

Re: Problems with install of powerpack and mp3 license

I found Codec Central and downloaded Windows Media Audio 10 Pro for XP, rebooted my machine and I still cannot convert the files when I go into Internet Explorer, right click and select "convert to" (lame mp3). Any idea what I am now doing wrong?!

So sorry to be a pest!

                  Lt. Data,
Thanks for your patience with me! It is now working - I noticed that I didn't have the .wma .dll file so I went back in and clicked on the .wma codec .exe file and rebooted! Voila!
                  Thank you again!

No problem, but next time could you edit your posts instead of making 6, please? Thanks!
