Re: CODEC not installed or Audio File Corrupt

As if my last post wasn't long enough... I happen to have dBPowerAMP
installed on another machine on my network. This machine has IE 7,
    but NO Audible 4.0.

From this other machine dBPowerAMP works fine! So, I guess I'm happy that
I can once again change my .aa files to .mp3 but it still would be nice to be
able to do it from the same machine that the .aa files and Audible 4.0
    reside.

I receive the same error message with the following conditions:

      Audible 4.0
      IE 7.0.5730.11
      WMP DRM Version: 11.0.5358.4827
      PowerAmp Music Converter Release 11.5
dMC Configuration: Installed Decoders-DirectShow Decoder Release 1 .aa

      Error Msg:
The CODEC required to decompress 'D:\My Documents\My Audiobooks\(file_name).aa' could not be opened.
DirectShow filter for '.aa' not installed, or Audio File Corrupt.

I have had the same experience, though my timeline is more compressed. I installed Dbpoweramp a couple of weeks ago (also primarilly to convert .aa files) and successfully converted a couple of books but now doesn't work. I haven't changed anything related to media player or audible in the interim, though I did notice a windows update a couple of days ago that addressed something in media player. Could the update have affected dbpoweramp's access to the directshow codec?

Unfortunately, we cannot help people with regards to anything dealing with Audible: http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthread.php?t=8981
