    Re: FLAC to AAC

The computer where Nero fails to finalize is a 2.00 GHZ Dell laptop with 1 Gig of memory. I am the administrator, so that should not be a problem.

The computer where Nero crashes is a 2.4 GHz with 512 MBytes of memory.

Of note, I tried to rip directly from the CD source using the Nero encoder and that also failed.

Is it doing this on one particular CD or all of your CDs? Can you convert some other files to AAC?

I tried several other FLAC files (I don't have any CDs at work, so I can't test ripping of the CDs here) and all of them have similar problems. I get the ~dmcout.m4a file in the C:\; however, now it is creating an empty file (0 byte) with the correct name in the directory where it supposed to go.

The original track was rather large (around 58 Meg), so I tried smaller tracks (less than 20 Meg), but that did not seem to make a difference in the conversion.

I did a fresh install on yet another computer and the only extra encoders/decoders installed were for FLAC and Nero and it exhibits the same behavior of failure to finalize.
