    M4a Codec installation problem

Been trying to install the M4A codec alongside all my other DMC stuff, which sits in a specific subdirectory on my laptop. Everything installs fine, but when I try to convert a file using the codec, DMC or Sveta seems to expect the faac file to sit in a specific location on my PC ie in the Program files directory ie
    C:\Program Files\Illustrate\dBpowerAMP\Compression\m4a (FAAC CLI)\faac.exe

    - not with the rest of the DBPoweramp stuff

Unfortunately my company locks down its laptops so we can't mess around with the configuration much, so everything I want to do has to sit in my "personal area".

Is this a bug in the installation programme, as it does ask you where you want to put the files and I am sure that not everyone takes the default :-)

    Re: M4a Codec installation problem

This codec and several others have a dialogue window that opens up when you go to use this codec. From this window, youo would browse to confirm the location of the codec if it is installed in a non-standard location. The default installation location is (I believe) what will initially show.

Have you tried browsing from this window to the location where you installed the codec and then confirming that location?

Have you confirmed that your codec did end up getting installed where you wanted it to be?

    Best wishes,
    Bill

Click the "Locate Encoder" button after you select m4a and then put the path to faac.exe

Thanks - I had missed this function - now works perfectly
