    Problems ripping

    Hello From France,

I have a more frequentproblem that happens more and more often (50% of CD, and not on all files): it makes re-rip of certain files for long long duration with dozens of thousands frames, before giving a final error.
Doing with burst option fixes badly the pb because the sound is then not good, and there still remains final errors on certain files.

    Thanks for youy help.

Window 10, 64 bits, CD reader external.

If there are playback errors after using Burst mode, then there are errors in the rip. Using Secure mode may help to try and re-read the bad sections. Especially if there are thousands of frames reported, there is either a very bad scratch, or the disc may be dirty or even deteriorating.

Thank you Gbrown for your answer.
Unfortunatly it happens on most CD, And no scratch at all can be seen on CDs.
        Secure mode gives majority error.
It was not possible to put a jpeg 80K image in the attachement manager to show you the screen.
        Best to you.

Does any other software rip any of these discs without noise?

Depends on your OS. You can try Windows Media Player or iTunes to see if they work at all. But the won't be able to provide accurate rip results or proper error correction like dbPoweramp can.

Are C2 pointers enabled or disabled?

Disable C2 pointers if enabled, your drive does not appear to support them.

If not, then replace the CD drive.

Given you say it's happening on most rips have you tried switching cables?
I wasn't suggesting to use these permanently, just to confirm if the any other software would work at all. This was simply a suggestion for widely accessible options.
