Albums not in Accurate Rip Database

I'm just wanting to confirm that for albums that are not found in the Accurate Rip database, the best I can do is a secure rip, correct?

Last night as I was ripping some albums, I came across a band that (apparently) only has 1 album in the Accurate Rip database (which I thought was strange...it wasn't even the most recent one, but whatever). I was able to get a 'secure' rip but the Accurate Rip is just grayed out with (X) AR. Is this the best I can do for albums that aren't found in the Accurate Rip database? Is there any *list* that I could search by artist or something to ensure that it wasn't just a detection error or something like that?

I did a quick search for "Accurate Rip database" but I wasn't able to find a list of 5 million albums or anything...just that it exists somewhere. Below is a clip of the log for one of the albums:

correct, best you can do if not in AR database is secure rip. I don't think you can check directly whether album is listed in database.

Awesome! Thank you Gary!! Appreciate it!

Just wanted to make sure I didn't get too deep into this just to find out that I have to redo a bunch of work.

And the nice thing is that one can do AR database comparisons *after the fact*. So if it ever shows up in AR later on, your post rip comparison can show a match. I use the dbpa product PerfectTunes for this. foobar2000 has a utility verification component that will do some version of AR match too, but I think PerfectTunes is better.

That's sweet! Yeah, I picked up the Poweramp, PerfectTUNES, Image Converter, and Video Converter. I've already made some changes to metadata and album covers in PerfectTUNES. It's super nice and surprisingly (to me anyway) FAST! HAHAHA!! Super stoked on this stuff...happy to finally be digitizing, cataloguing, and working on plans for storage.

I'll have to remember to check periodically through PerfectTUNES on the albums that weren't in the database. They are pretty obscure and now defunct, so I'd be impressed if it ever showed up but if it's quick and easy, there's no harm in checking! The albums were in great shape too...I've tried to keep everything pretty well taken care of...the stuff I got from my brother on the other hand...hahaha 1 hour burst rip, GROSS!

One thing to remember, your rip will eventually appear in PerfectTUNES, so if the confidence is only 1 in a month or 2 then likely it is your rip and can be discounted.

But note that if you get even an AR of 2, that means that another person, with a different copy of the CD, ripping it on a different computer, got the same "bits" as you did in your rip. So an AR of 2 is actually extremely strong evidence that you got a perfect rip. (although do keep in mind that if you rip the same CD twice on different computers and submit to AR both times, obviously both those AR database items are yours).
