I would be even stronger in response. There is NO point.* No value at all. Upsampling 16/44.1 files does NOT magically create additional audio information.
*I suppose if you had some very strange DAC that could only play files that were in DSD format. But this seems almost impossible.Comment

I really have no clue why rip to DSD exists. Can't be used for SACD layer. Nonsensical for ripping a redbook (16/44.1) CD. Are there non-SACD DSD discs that can be ripped? Maybe the audio tracks contained on some DVD disks can be ripped with this. Don't have any myself.Comment
