    Filename & Restricted characters

    hi,
I have upgraded to 16.6 and I have a problem with the restricted characters.
I have made it so that the ; is replaced with a ,

( mainly this is need in the artist & the composer tags )

on doing this I get a / instead of the , in iTunes

I believe Filename Restricted Characters only affects the filename and not your tags.

That has been my experience, and I use the restricted characters in my tags, though using the restricted characters in post editing, is problematic.

';' is a special character in the Tags for dBpoweramp, it separates multiple artists, when written to ID Tags it is written correctly for the tag format (such as / for ID3 tags).

yes, this is exactly where I get the problem.
do you think I should leave the setting to default and make the changes manually to separates multiple artists ??

                    Re: Filename & Restricted characters

Add the DSP effect 'ID Tag Processing' on the Manipulation tab select:

Multiple Artists to 'Artist1; Artist2' for non multiple artist aware programs

iTunes is not compatible with multiple artists.

No, they would be presented with ; between them.
