    Issues Ripping a CD

Last year my notebook crashed and lost all my music files. I decided to rip my CD collection (I only have CDs from one band), but one CD wouldn't rip. It had light scratches, but would hang on the first or second track. I let it go, and bought the album off iTunes. Now I ordered a new CD, and went to rip it and it's hanging on the first track even with this new disc. What could this be? Right now it's on "Re-Rip [403 frames]" Have I just gotten two bad discs??

What happens if you let it continue to try and rip?

The drive will speed up real fast, then slow down, speed up and slow down. I didn't realize it was going to do it on the new disc, so I left the room for over an hour and when I returned it was still on the re-ripping process of the first album. I tried to uncheck songs to see if other tracks would rip, but it does the same thing on every track...

Untick the C2 errors option in your ripping settings, then try again.

C2 Error Pointers for Error Detection? It was never checked to begin with.

yes. But it seems it was not ticked. So obviously, that's not the problem.

I have another disc coming in the mail later next week. If it does the same thing, I will try and get a USB drive and see if maybe that helps, don't really know what else to do.

Trying with a different drive is always useful.

I tried with another drive today. It ripped 14 tracks fine, then the program kept auto closing while trying to rip the last 5 tracks...
