Internal drive recommendations for ripping?>

Looked at the logs for accuraterip, there are thousands of lookups every hour, it is working as should. Must be something local blocking

Try reading that file using a browser, that is a bin file for a disc, your browser should download a bin file.

I'm not sure what I'm doing here. I downloaded the file but I can't get it to open in Edge or Firefox. In Notepad++ I see:

I've had about 3 CDs for which this does not appear. I see it for all the rest (80+ now).



My Win11 Defender firewall settings for dBpoweramp seem to be okay.

AccurateRip is working, just that 3 drives you have tried have the wrong offset, this points to the motherboard. Only a new SATA control card is likely to help.

I was thinking the same and ordered a PCIE 2 port card from Amazon. Free returns, so no problem if it doesn't work. I will report back.

Success! I tried two PCI-E SATA cards, and both enabled all four of my optical drives to be accepted by AccurateRip on the very first CD I tried.


These are the cards:

1. "Xdingjiala" PCIe SATA 3.0 Expansion Card 2 Port. PCI-E 2.0
2. "DollaTek" PCI-E 1X GEN3 To Sata3.0 Full Speed Expansion Card 2-Port. PCI-E 3.0

I ordered the Xdingjiala first, then saw the Dollatek which was a bit cheaper & better specced at PCI-E3.0, and its listing also says it has IDE support. So I ordered that too (both free returns) in case any of those spec differences might be the cause of my issue... They weren't. Both cards work fine.

So, for whatever reason, my ASUS TUF Gaming B650-PLUS (with latest drivers) prevents Accuraterip working on its SATA ports. In my post #6 here, I recorded that Windows Device Manager reported one of my drives as "PLDS DVD-RW DH16AESH". It shows exactly the same name through the PCI-E card, so that isn't the cause of the problem. I wonder what it is.

Yes, good idea. I have a few threads saved where folks have mentioned similar issues, I'll spread the word. I'll see if there's somewhere on the AccurateRip to post too.

I've just noticed the most post #22 somehow got truncated. I had suggested ( Spoon ?) that it would be good if this issue could be mentioned in the dBpoweramp documentation, for the benefit of other users who might stumble down this frustrating path.

It's a small world... I just visited https://www.accuraterip.com/ with the intention of reporting this issue... and discovered that the AccurateRip Forum link at the top of the homepage links back to this very dBpoweramp CD Ripper forum! There is also an email address on the same page, but I see that that also goes to @dBpoweramp.com.

Spoon - if this is indeed the AccurateRip forum, might I suggest placing a sticky about this issue here?

It is not an easy one, we have threads about it, but it is quite rare that it pops up. Also a driver update could be issued which fixes the problem and then out info is out of date.
