I know this is a basic question (sorry) but I can't find a way to change the output of the ripped CD to my external hard drive. If I click on path the only option seems to be "Music" and when I click "output to" I only get options for different file types.

This might be relevant:
macOS Catalina (or newer) introduces per program security access settings, normally macOS will ask when the program tries to access something if it should be granted permission. This security setting can also be set at a later date, click the Apple menu icon: System Preferences >> Privacy & Security >> Full -
Thanks for the response but the permissions wasn't the issue. Both CD Ripper and PerfectTunes have permissions. The issue is I can't find a setting that gives me a choice of where to save the ripped music files other than in the Music folder. I don't have a drop-down list for drives or any other choice. What am I missing?Comment

I'll chime in with what I just noticed on my Mac, in case it helps anybody else.
Unlike the screenshot above, the option to select a path to save the files is completely grayed out and seemingly not able to set it.
But it is because I use the multi-encoder setting (I do ALAC+AAC+FLAC), and with that setting, the file path is set when configuring each separate file format and the option is then in the individual encoder settings (which is selected by either "right-clicking" or double clicking on each encoder) .
I have it set to send the files to three separate folders for each one.
